Health Plan Update 2025​

Health Plan Improvements for 2025
Every year, the trustees of our Local Health and Welfare Plan meet to review the financial stability of our plan, as well as requests from the membership on plan improvements. After our meeting in January of 2025, we are happy to announce that not only are we going to be able to offer all the same great benefits as the previous year, but some plan improvements as well.
Improvements to our Union Benefits
Union Benefits are services that are offered to our members that are beyond what is included within our Pacific Blue Cross coverage and are self administered through the office . These are available to members after they have been on our Pacific Blue Cross plan  for 3 months. A claim form must be filled out accompanied by receipt or supporting paperwork.  All Union benefit claim forms are available at the Union office or on our website at:

Union Benefits consist of :
Health Spending :   (eligible for retires)
  • Increased from $500 to $1000 for 2025 (and the $250 cap on boots has been removed) 
    • Original receipt and form both required
Gym and Yoga:
  • Increased from $400 to $500 for 2025
    • Punch cards not accepted.
Lifestyles:
  • Smoking Cessation - $500/ Lifetime 
  • Erectile dysfunction drugs - $500/ Yearly​
Wills:  (eligible for retires)
  • $650/ Every 3 years 
Bereavement:
  • ​Covering up to 3 days of lost wages
