Mental Health Month
Brothers, and Sisters
I want to take a few minutes today to talk about something that doesn’t get talked about enough in our line of work- mental health.
We’re in an industry that’s built on toughness, hard work, and pride. But the truth is, behind the steel-toe boots and hard hats, we’re all human. And being human means we all carry stress—whether it's work deadlines, family responsibilities, injuries, financial pressures, or just the day-to-day grind. Sometimes, that stress builds up more than we care to admit.
June is Mental Health Month, and it’s a time to remind ourselves and each other that it's okay not to be okay. Asking for help doesn’t make you weak—it means you’re strong enough to take care of yourself and those who count on you.
Let’s break the silence around mental health. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, or just not like yourself—talk to someone. A friend, your partner, a coworker, a union rep, or a mental health professional. You don’t have to carry the weight alone.
